The PaintChecker robot is a photo-thermal measuring device that allows a non-contact and non-destructive coating thickness measurement in accordance with DIN EN 15042-2. The device can be used for wet or dry organic coatings such as solvent- and water-based paint, powder paint and glazes on different substrates like metal, extruded rubber and ceramics.
The PaintChecker robot is an extension of the PaintChecker online and corresponds with it concerning the technical details. It has been optimised with regard to its behaviour in case of quick and/or frequent position changes of the measuring head being typical for robot applications:
The robot variant should particularly be used when position changes of the measuring head during or immediately before the measuring are necessary (period of time approx. 30 sec.). Translatory movements are uncritical (Figure 1.1, 1.2 and 2.1, 2.2 respectively); if rotary movements are necessary, the robot variant should be preferred to the online version (Figure 1.3 and 2.3 respectively).
- Delivery with flexible and tough cable set suitable for robotsfor the connection between measuring head and light source or evaluation unit
- Use of a special sensor element which is insensitive to position changes of the measuring head
