Certified reference samples

Special reference samples certified by PTB in the form of coating thickness standards can be used to verify the measurement system capability. The reference samples allow a qualitative assessment of the data measured by the PaintChecker by directly measuring individual samples.  In the official calibration certificate distributed by PTB, the coating thickness and the tolerance are given for every sample.

The reference samples consist of six round metal plates of 25 mm diameter, five of which are coated with different thicknesses and one of which is not coated. The measuring area is in the centre and marked by a circle with a diameter of 6 mm. For their protection, the reference samples are delivered in a wooden box, which also contains the calibration certificate.
