The demand for a 100% measurement is increasingly applied to modern test systems. With cycle rates down to the range of a few seconds and sometimes several measuring points per component, the requirements for the system of movement technology (robotics) and sensor technology are becoming very high. The use of optical sensors, such as the industrial PaintChecker, often results in the measurement itself in fractions of a second. The movement technology then has to move the sensor to a different measuring position or feature as quickly as possible. A lot of time is often lost as the combination of the weight of the sensor and the weight of the robot arm itself can usually not meet the desired repetition rates during continuous operation. With the extremely light industrial PaintChecker sensors (approx. 100 g) OptiSense offers an ideal combination with modern pick-and-place robots, such as, for example the Adpept Hornet. These delta robots, also known as parallel kinematics, are designed to lift small weights of up to 200 g and to transport them as quickly as possible. In addition, the Adept Hornet is equipped with an integrated camera system in the robot control which detects the location of parts on the conveyor belt, corresponding to the measuring points even when the alignment of these is disordered and follows the component for the time of measurement. This enables exact and fast inspections of all components on a conveyor belt at the same measuring points. The accuracies are identical to those of a stationary measurement.
