The OpinionMonitor - our current online survey

IoT, IIoT and Industry 4.0 are different topics, but they often pursue the same goal:

The Internet of Things (IoT) aims to network machines and devices. In the industrial environment, the term Industrial IoT (IIoT) has become established. However, unlike the consumer-oriented IoT, the IIoT must meet much higher demands, since hundreds of values from tens of machines are to be monitored in industry.

Industry 4.0 stands for the fourth industrial revolution and focuses on the cross-company networking of machines and processes through IIoT. As an example, one can imagine a machine that is to be serviced by an outside company. Through complete networking, the machine itself can trigger the order with the service partner for troubleshooting.
